Physics course this year. Physics is pure pleasure for me, so I am delighted to be teaching this course. This begins my twentieth year as a teacher at Providence High School, and I feel very fortunate to be working at such a fine school. My background is as follows. I am originally from Great Falls, SC -- about fifty miles south of Charlotte on I-77. I have degrees in physics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (M.S., 95) and from Clemson University (B.S., 91). My wife, Alicia, and I have been married for twenty years, and we have two sons, Clark (15-yr. old) and Luke (13-yr. old). I enjoy sports, the outdoors, reading, and live music. I have several goals as a teacher. I plan not only to prepare the student thoroughly for the AP Physics exam in May 2016, but also for related studies in science and math beyond high school. At the same time I hope to make this course interesting, fun, and relevant to life. Finally and most importantly, I intend to raise students confidence in, and appreciation for, learning. Please visit this website often for details on the structure and content of the course. If you have any questions, or if you would like to arrange a conference with me at any time, please email me to ensure the quickest response. My planning period is the 4 th block of each day (which runs from 12:45 to 2:15), so expect to hear back from me during that interval. I look forward to a rewarding year for all -students, parents, and teachers. If there is anything I can do to improve your experience, please let me know. Sincerely, Glenn Jones
