    Police Continue Mission Specific Traffic Enforcement


    The Intensified Traffic Enforcement detail was operational on Thursday, August 20,
    2015. The detail was run from 3PM to 11PM.
    A total of 38 citations were issued for various violations and one arrest was made for
    domestic battery warrant issued by Berwyn PD. Violations included speeding, stop
    sign violations, insurance violations, red light violations, suspended revoked
    registration and parking tickets violations. The department focused on neighborhood
    complaints or concerns that were received from our residents and business
    community. Areas were targeted at the request of emails received from residents
    included:

    Ridgewood Rd (RBHS)
    Lionel Rd
    Woodside Rd
    First Ave (High School)
    Harlem (RR tracks area)
    Forest Ave

    Sgt. Jeff Miller stated, The police


    department has recognized an
    increase in speed-related concerns
    and has made efforts to address
    speeding in the Village. Specifically,
    the police department recently
    purchased a new laser unit to conducted more speed enforcement, and focused
    patrols on speed when feasible.
