1. Go to http://www.desmos.com.

At the top of the page, youll see this:

2. Click on the Create Account button. Youll get this:


3. Choose: Link to your Google Account
Note: Once you have your desmos account,
you can sign into it by following Steps 1 3,
and then clicking on the link that says
Already have an account?. Then youll be
asked to enter your email address and
password.

Once youre into desmos, youll see a page that looks like this:

You can start entering equations right away!


Click here and start typing. Youll get the
triangle/exclamation point symbol until
youve entered something that is valid.

Now that you have something thats


valid, the graph can be seen and you
get the round symbol you see here,
instead of the warning symbol you
had before.

You can specify the domain (or range) by using


curly braces after your equation and inserting an
expression like {2 <= x <= 1}.
Note that you can type a < followed by an = and
desmos will put in a sign for you. And look!
The line has turned into a line segment!

Enter more equations! Save your graph!


Create space for a new equation by either
hitting Enter/Return while your cursor is in an
existing equation, or by clicking on the Plus
sign.

If you click on the Plus sign,


youll get this selection list. Click
on the first item to create space
for a new equation. (You
shouldnt need the other choices
for this project, but feel free to
investigate!)

Its always a good idea to save your work early and often!
To give your graph a name and save it, click on the green
disk/save symbol.

Give your graph a name, and click on


the green Save Graph button.

Change colors and line style.


You can change line colors by clicking on the
Edit Settings button.

The symbol will change to a big


colored dot. Click on the dot!

Now you can choose from a set of


colors. You can also make your line
dashed by clicking on that symbol.
Change as many of your lines as youd like, and
then hit the Done button. Dont forget to Save
your work frequently.

Share your graph with your teacher! (This is how you will turn in your graph.)
When youd like to turn in your graph, click on the Share Graph icon.

Youll get something like


this. Click on the Email
button.
Type in your teachers
email address (in Send
to:), your name (which
should already be filled
in), and a message to your
teacher if youd like. Then
hit the Send button.
