11th Grade Timeline

August

__ Check to see that youre scheduled for the

correct courses.
__ Review your four year plan of the High School
courses you need/want to take.
__ Continue extra-curricular activities started in 10th
Grade and/or start new extra- curricular
activities.
___Make sure to complete an application for free or
reduced lunch.

September

__ Sign up for college concurrent classes at


your
high school.
__Obtain the catalogs/brochures of Colleges /
Universities that interest you.
__ Prepare for Octobers PSAT by reviewing
study guides & practice tests on College
Boards My Road or Khan Academy
accounts. GEAR UP staff will be available to
help you.

October

__ Attend College Night/or College Fairs


__Take the PSAT/NMSQT (Practice PSAT)on
October 14th, 2015 & use the results to help
you
prepare for the spring SAT/ACT.

November
__ Begin working on a resume for yourself
(www.AIE.org/HighSchool/Jobs/Resumes).

December
__ Determine your GPA and approximate class
rank to determine if your GPA and rank are
within the norm for Universities that interest
you.

January
__ Review your PSAT/NMSQT
scores, use
Khan Academy site to help you
improve
your SAT scores.
February
__ Inquire about the GEAR UP
College
Road trips happening during
Spring Break.
MARCH
__ Attend a gear up GEAR UP

April
__ Work on your resume/brag sheet, Include all
extracurricular and volunteer activities.
__ Register for either the May or June SAT
and/or the ACT
__ Take 11th grade SBAC tests seriously!

May

__ Register to take both the ACT and/or SAT


in
June if you miss the May test dates.
__ Prepare to take appropriate AP Exams.
__ *SAT May 7th

June
__ Make your summer Count= work,
study,
volunteer, enrich, and/or recover.
__*ACT and/orthe SAT (June 4th)
