Phase Changes Virtual Notes & Lab

Introduction: A phase change is a change in state of matter. For example, when ice
melts, H2O changes from the solid state to the liquid state. During a phase change,
the temperature of the material stays constant because any heat gained or lost has
been involved in bonds between the particles, not in changing the temperature, or
average speed of the particles.
