Women

Coach Tom Wilson became the head coach of Fredonia Track & Field and
Cross Country in 2011 after nearly a decade long stint as an assistant coach
with the program.
Wilson, a 2002 graduate of Fredonia State, was an accomplished pole vaulter
and 800m runner during his time as a competitive athlete. Wilson holds lifetime personal bests of 159 in the pole vault and 1:54 in the 800m.

During Wilsons first year (2011) at the helm, he helped guide Nick Guarino
(11) to three NCAA National Championships, one in the 1500m, 800m, and
indoor mile. Sine then he has also lead Zakk Hess (15) and Peter Francia
(13) to the NCAA Cross Country Championships in consecutive years, and
pole vaulter Broncho Rollins (12) to two NCAA All -American trophies in
2012. In addition, Wilson earned Mens SUNYAC Head Coach of the Year
honors his first year as head coach after the Blue Devils came from behind to
take third place at the SUNYAC championships and won six individual events.
Under Wilsons coaching, the Fredonia Track & Field and Cross Country
teams have continued to grow in both success and volume. The SUNYAC
qualifying team has grown from 26 men and women in 2011 to 51 men and
women in 2015. Additionally, in 2014 the Mens Cross Country team finished
in the top 10 in the NCAA Atlantic Region and the women finished in the top
15. This only continued the success of their 2013 season when both teams finished in the top 15 for the first time in the same year.
Wilson lives just a few blocks from campus in Fredonia with his wife and
alumnus, Jen (Martin) Wilson, and their two children, Donovan and Briana.
