    Griffith Centre for Coastal Management is offering several school holiday programs in September and October 2015, including beach treasure hunts, sand studies and art workshops, and coastal walks and talks. The beach treasure hunts will be held at The Spit on September 23 and Broadwater Parklands on September 30 for ages 5+ at $2 per child. Sand studies will teach about the age and composition of sand under microscopes and include sand art. A coastal walk and talk at Burleigh Heads National Park on October 2 for ages 12+ will cover the park's history and ecology along a gentle walk led by a coastal expert.

    workshop will show you some hidden
    secrets of sand! Use a microscope
    and see the rocks and gems in our
    Gold Coast sand. You will also create
    sand art from 250.000 year old sand!

    Parks history, Tallebudgera creek,
    how Burleigh became QLDs cleanest
    beach, the flora and fauna of the
    rocky shores and dunes during a
    gentle interpretive walk with one of
    the centres coastal experts. Morning
    tea provided at the end of the walk.
    Finish at Goodwin terrace.
