Carpe Diem spearheaded Buwan ng Wika celebrations at the college by hosting various activities in the quadrangle on August 12. The newly recognized student organization aimed to enhance students' skills through literature, mathematics, and creative arts groups. While typically organized by the College of Arts and Sciences, Carpe Diem accepted the challenge. Their advisors Charlzton Cortez, Ronny Valencia and Zeus Tumada gave seminars on performing arts and patriotism through role playing. The celebration included live music, folk dancing, antique exhibits, and students participating in a freedom wall and poster making. While mostly successful, some felt it was disorganized compared to their high school celebrations.

Ang wika ang salamin ng ating mayaman na kasaysayan, expressed Carpe Diem adviser Charlzton Cortez as this new club kick off the Buwan ng Wika celebration in the college quadrangle last August 12. Carpe Diem is a freshly recognized student organization which aims to enhance the students skills and talents. It is composed of three internal groups which include Literature and Language Guild, Society of Mathematicians, and Center for Creative productions. College of Arts and Sciences should be the head organizer of the event, said pharmacy student Jeruel Duque, president of Carpe Diem. But, the club accepted the challenge of conducting because they can do it. Furthermore, according to Cortez that this is also an application of the members knowledge acquired from their previous seminars and workshops. This years Buwan ng Wika celebration was highlighted by a variety show performed by the staff of the club. The show includes singing of Filipino-made songs such as Harana and Buko by a live band, and folk dancing. In addition, patriotism of Filipino heroes was portrayed through a role playing starred by Cortez and other club advisers Ronny Valencia and Zeus Tumada. The club advisers also lectured through seminar-workshop about performing arts. They emphasized that it is important for the students to enhance their talents in a young age. Antiques were also exhibited. Different antique coins and an old camera to name few. Likewise, scribbling in the freedom wall and poster slogan making were gladly participated by the Lormanians. Even though the event is quite success, some students think that the program was bit unorganized and scruffy. Parang mas maganda pa yung celebration namin noong high school, commented Kris Ann De los Reyes, a freshmen.
