A random quote because there is a gap on the page! - " You'll never be brave if you don't get hurt. You'll never learn if you don't make mistakes. You'll never be successful if you don't encounter failure.

Wow what a couple of weeks events like Polyfest always make for a fabulous atmosphere around the place! The kids and adults all working together, supporting and encouraging each other, and the ability of our learners to remember so
much material never ceases to amaze me! So incredibly proud of all our performers on Thursday it take guts to get on that big stage! As always our students are a breeze to take away on days like that they just go with the flow and
genuinely delight in the success of their peers brilliant! A big thanks to everyone who came to support and to Mike Lemalie we really appreciated your skills on the drums!

A piece of writing by Jordan in her extension writing group with Emma:

When you enter this place
To my right is my dresser reflecting the lovely afternoon,
to my left is a window without a spot,
on the far right is the sleeping quarters in a disaster,
on the far left is my desk with music exploding everywhere,
the door polished to its core as it creaks open letting in the coldness of the hallway,
the afternoon sun explodes with light as it leaves my room for the night,
the walls closed in as if its a closet,
the soft blue carpet spreads across the floor like a blanket,
the blue metal chairs at my desk scratch against the floor,
the picture above my dresser hangs on a diagonal as the wind blows into my room,
this is what I call home.

Fabulous day up the mountain

on the SKI TRIP on Friday!

Tennis holiday programme:

The Tennis Hot Shots programme provides a
consistent, fun and safe tennis experience for
primary aged kids. The key philosophies of
the programme are:
1. Learning through play children learn the
game of tennis, rather than just the isolated
skills.
2. Scaled equipment smaller courts,
racquets and low-compression balls.
3. Progressive pathway children can move
through the four stages as their tennis
improves
This will provide a fun day for children to learn
about Tennis while improving their skills.

Year 7/ 8 News:
Leadership: We are getting used to running our new Hapori
awhina groups and feel like we are getting things done
around the school now.
Tuesday 1 September:
All Year 7/8 students to be at school by 8.20 please. The
bus leaves for town at 8.30 for the Ascot School technology
rooms. The bus leaves at the end of the day at 3.00 so they
will be a bit late back to school this day. Last year was a
metal tool-box, wonder what it will be this time?

Inquiry Update:
1) As you will know, last term we all completed a SOCIAL STUDIES/ History
Inquiry and a large part of this was the history of Bluff. There is now a group of
Year 7/ 8 students working with Emma to turn this into a timeline to put on
display down the main street. They have been working with all sorts of people
on confirming dates (trickier than you would think!), and have just sent out
letters to try and secure funding to pay for each board we will need to put up to
complete the project we will keep you updated with where they are up to.
2) This term is a SCIENCE inquiry on animals as it is something the students said
they would like to explore. I have been hearing all sort of random animal facts
popping up such as.
The weight of T-Rex is approximately the weight of garbage truck! Matt
Crocodiles have the strongest bite of any animal in the world.
Indaka
The Aye Ayes tail is larger than its entire body! Ella
The giant snake Anaconda kills their prey by choking. George
Tiger sharks roll their eyes back when they attack to protect their
Alison
eyes! Deacon
