Rainbow Write
-First write each
word in pencil. Trace
over each word 3
times. Each time
your trace, you must
use a different color.
Pyramid Spelling
-Write each spelling
word like a pyramid.
Example: home

Story, Story
-Write a story using
ALL of your spelling
words. Be sure to
underline your
spelling words in
your paragraphs
Trace
-Write each of your
spelling words in
pencil. Trace around
each word with a
crayon, colored
pencil, or marker.
Backwards Words
-Write your spelling
words forwards and
then backwards,
neatly.
Squiggly Words
-You are going to
write your spelling
words two times.
First time them in
regular letters. Then
write the words
again in squiggly
letters,
Acrostic Poem
-Choose 5 of your
spelling words and
write an acrostic
poem.
You must also
ILLUSTRATE

Spelling Flower
-Draw a picture of a
great big flower.
Write each of your
spelling words on
one of the flow
petals or on a leaf.
Draw extra flowers if
you run out of room.
Telephone Words
-First write your
spelling words in a
list. Then look at
your telephone
keypad. Translate
each letter into a
number on the
keypad. Now write
your spelling word
using this code.
Bubble Letters
-Write your spelling
words in bubble
letters. After you
write your word,
color it in with
colored pencil,
crayon, or marker
Silly Sentences
-Write Silly
Sentences using
each of your spelling
words. Please
underline your
spelling word. Write
neatly!
Example: My dog
wears a blue dress
when he takes a
bath.
ABC Order
-First write your
spelling words in a
list. Then write them
in ABC Order
-For extra practice,
write them in
reverse ABC Order
Blue Vowels
-Write each of your
spelling words.
You will need a blue
color pencil or
crayon. Trace over
the vowels in each
word with your blue
color pencil.
Adding My Words
-Each letter had a
value.
Consonants are
worth 10 and vowels
are worth 5.
Write your spelling
words and then add
up the value of each
spelling word.
Example:
Said- 10
+5+5+10=30
Superman Letter
-Your job is to write a
creative letter to
Superman (or
another super hero)
In your letter, you
must use each of the
spelling words. Be
sure to underline
your words as you
use them.
Choo-Choo Words
-Write your entire list
end-to-end as one
long word, like a
train. Use a different
colored crayon for
each word.
Example:

Consonant Circle
-Write each of your
spelling words.
Then go back and
circle all of the
consonants in your
words.
Dont forget to write
neatly.
