Research Project Completion Form

TOPIC: What gender is more likely to return dropped money?
1. What was your hypothesis?
Females are more likely to return the dropped money.
2. What method of research design did you choose and why?
Naturalistic Observation. I chose this type because I believe it is most accurate for
capturing people instinctive reactions.
3. How did you define the ambiguous (unclear) aspects of your topic?
We limited the experiment by narrowing down the scope to male vs. female, rather than
other physical attributes.
4. What variables do you expect to impact your project?
-environment where money is dropped
-age of person
-time of day
5. How do you plan on addressing those variables?
Dropping the money at two different locations, making sure each location has a variety of
different age groups, and going to each location at a different time of day
6. Data Collection:
How did you collect your data?

Who did your project target?

Did it matter who you targeted? Why or why not?

7. Data Analysis:

How did you analyze your data?

What were you looking for? (mean, mode, frequency, correlation, etc.)

What were your results?

Did your results prove or disprove your hypothesis? How do you know?

6. Reflection:
What was the most difficult thing about this project?

If you could ask a different question or questions to improve your results what would it
be?

Is your view of the topic different now? Why or why not?

If you could do the entire project over again, what would you do differently?

7. Documents:
Please attach a copy of your survey, interview questions, and explanation of your
observation or experiment. (whatever you did to collect your data)

Please attach a copy of the pieces of literature you found that related to your topic of
study (shoot for at least 3)
