On the last Saturday of October, the Historical Society of Long Beach
hosts an exciting cemetery tour in the citys two oldest cemeteries. This
one-of-a-kind living history celebration attracts more than 900 people
and engages the support of more than 75 volunteers, city agencies, and
community and regional leaders. The event provides an amazing
opportunity to remember the role ordinary people play in local, national,
and world events.
In addition to costumed actors bearing witness to the lives of wellknown and lesser-known figures in Long Beach history, visitors enjoy
historical displays, and lovely day in a unique, park-like setting. .

The Historical Society of Long Beach is a nonprofit organization that
collects, preserves and presents local history. Using historical
documents, photographs, artifacts, and oral and written stories we create
exhibits and public programs that connect people to the past and to the
place they live.

Its theater in a cemetery!
