and opportunity to research and discuss various topics each week which may include: current events, relevant social topics, art, poetry, literature, politics, etc. Discussions will take place in the form of a formal Socratic Seminar and sometimes informal Socratic Discussions.
Each week you will be emailed a news article, piece of literature, or
artwork and some driving questions for your research. Read the article and take notes in order to prepare for the class discussion
Key Assignment #1: Due by December 15th
- Use the document attached to create and facilitate your own Socratic Seminar. It is your responsibility to schedule your seminar with the instructor. - Schedule your time slot as soon as possible to get the date you want. Key Assignment #2: Due January 25th - Select one of the seminar topics conducted in class. Write a 2-3 page persuasive essay addressing the concerns brought up in the discussion.

questions answered, and notes ready for discussion Complete Key Assignment #1 by December 15th Complete Key Assignment #2 during the month of January Be open minded and respectful of the opinions, thoughts, and ideas of others Be ON TIME Course work will be assessed based on submission of written observations and class participation.
