SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE OF PARDONEES

CY 2007

AGE

• Age level 31-40 years old obtained the largest number of pardonees at 295.
• Age level 41-50 years old garnered the second largest number of pardonees at 274.

GENDER

• 95.99% (958) of the pardonees are male and the remaining 4.01% (40) are female.
• The number of female pardonees as compared with the opposite sex is very small
representing a ratio of 1 : 24.

CIVIL STATUS

• Greater percentage of the pardonees are married recorded at 44.99% or 449.


• The remaining 55.01% are either with common-law relations (223), separated (202),
widower (88) or single (36).

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

• Majority of the pardonees are classified under elementary undergraduate recorded at


326 or 32.66%.
• 24.45% or 244 pardonees have no formal schooling
• A minimal number of 40 pardonees have graduated from high school.

NATIONALITY

• All of the pardonees handled by the Agency are Filipinos.

NUMBER OF CHILDREN

• 16.13% (161) of the pardonees have one (1) child.


• 13.53% (135) of the pardonees have four (4)children.
• 13.43% (134) of the pardonees have two (2) children.
OCCUPATION

• 18.54% (185) of the pardonees belong to the occupational classification Group X i.e.,
Special Occupations.
• Occupational Group VI (Farmers, Forestry Workers and Fishermen) garnered the
second highest occupational classification with 184 pardonees.
• 17.23% or 172 pardonees are unemployed.

CRIMES COMMITTED

• Majority (493 or 49.39%) of the pardonees committed crimes against persons.


• This is followed by crimes against property with 270 or 27.05% pardonees and crimes
against special law with 98 (9.82%) pardonees.

EXTENT OF PARTICIPATION IN THE CRIME

• All of the pardonees admitted that their criminal responsibility is principal.

LENGTH OF SUPERVISION PERIOD

• Greater majority (599 or 60.02%) of the pardonees fall under the 5-6 years
supervision period.
• 36.47% or 364 pardonees have 3-4 years supervision period.
