Abstract
Earthquake is a sudden movement of a soil below the
earth's surface caused by the movement of tectonic plates.
When the movement happens, there is a continual vibrations
called seismic waves, namely the earthquake in all directions.
Earthquakes can cause damage to buildings.
There are various level of damage caused by the
earthquake. Starting from minor damage of non-structural
elements until severe damage that can cause the building's
collapse. The damage of the building cause decreased
performance of the building.
This thesis discussed about analysis of the damage
categories in a building that has been tested in the field. Based
on test results in the field, the relationship curves between
displacement and base shear was obtained. Besides analysis
about categories of damage, numerical analysis is also
performed by modeling the structure into the structural
analysis program to determine the elasticity of the structure
and collapse behavior of the building using pushover analysis.

From the pushover analysis results, there are also

obtained the relationship curve between displacement and
base shear. Although not exactly the same, the result of
pushover analysis was acceptable because it was basically just
be an approach.

Keywords: categories of damage in buildings, building

performance, reinforced concrete, pushover analysis.
