Sequin & Bead work: Controlled capacity for intricate sequin & hand embroidery

Quality Control
Appropriate checks and controls are embedded right from purchase of raw material,
production and packing of finished goods.
All fabric is checked and sorted as per 4 point system of fabric inspection.
Finished goods are inspected and accepted as per appropriate AQL norms.

Manufacturing
Company mainly deals in two segments of the apparel supply chain i.e. one manufacturing of fabric and other
manufacturing of garment. These two segments are two different processes but are very much linked in the
supply chain. The Company has different departments each having specified functions and responsibilities.
Description of each department will follow in respect to how they occur.
Procedure
1. Receive a requisition and purchase order from the merchant.
2. After receiving the order documentation department of the export house issues an invoice.
3. Two invoices are prepared i.e. commercial invoice and custom invoice. Commercial invoice
is prepared for the buyer and custom invoice is prepared for the custom authorities of both the
countries.
4. Packing list is prepared which details the goods being shipped.
5. GSP certificate is prepared if the consignment is Exported to EU or countries mentioned in
GSP list.
6. Buying house inspects the goods and issue and inspection certificate.
7. Certificate of origin is also produced and attached if required.
8. Following documents are given to customs for their reference Custom Invoice

L/C if Required

9. On receipt of above documents, customs will issue clearance certificate.
10. After custom clearance a set of documents with custom clearance receipt are sent along with
the consignment to the forwarder. Forwarder books the shipment & as per the size of the
cartons Calculate CBM and decide which container to be used.
11. Buying house then imitates the buyer about the shipment & give the details regarding it.
Buying house will send a set of these documents to the buyer.
12. Buyer collects the consignment from the destination port by showing the following
documents.

Bill of lading/ FCR/ Airway bill
13. On shipment of goods exporter will send the documents to the importers bank.
14. If the payment terms are confirmed L/C then the payment will be made by the foreign bank
on receiving the following documents.

Packing list
B/L
15. After shipment, exporter send the documents to the buyers bank for payment. As the buyers
bank receives the document it will confirm with the buyer for the release of payment. On
confirmation it will make the payment in the foreign currency. The transaction will be bank to
bank.
Payment
A foreign buyer will make the payment in two ways i.e.
At Sight
Within 15 days from Bill of Lading or Airway Bill date.
Within 30 days from Bill of Lading or Airway Bill date.
Within 60 days from Bill of Lading or Airway Bill date.
Within 90 days from Bill of Lading or Airway Bill date
Documents Involved
Invoice
It is prepared by an exporter & sent to the importer for necessary acceptance. When the buyer
is ready to purchase the goods, he will request for an invoice.
Packing list
Certificate of Inspection
I t i s a t y p e o f d o c u m e n t d e s c r i b i n g t h e c o n d i t i o n o f g o o d s a n d confirming
that they have been inspected. It is required by some purchasers and countries in order to
attest to the specifications of the goods shipped. Crate, drum or carton. Both commercial
stationers and freight forwarders carry packing list forms.
IEC Certificate
It is an Import-Export Code Certificate issued by
DGFT, Ministry of Commerce, and Government of India. It is a10 digit code number. No
exports or imports will be effected without the IEC code. It is mandatory for every exporter.
It is like a check list which gives the detail regarding the content &design of the garment
packed.
DRY PORTS
It is also called Inland container depot (ICD). A dry port (Inland port) is an inland intermodal
terminal directly connected by road or rail to a seaport and operating as a centre for the
transhipment of sea cargo to inland destinations.
In addition to their role in cargo transhipment, dry ports may also include facilities for storage
and consolidation of goods, maintenance for road or rail cargo carriers and customs clearance
services. The location of these facilities at a dry port relieves competition for storage and
customs space at the seaport itself.
CONTAINER
The containers which are used in the export processing are of two types according to their
size.
1. 20 ft. container
2. 40 ft. container
CONTAINER OWNERSHIP
The containers, used in the export processing is always owned by the shipping company. It is
rarely owned by the exporter itself. Merchant and the manufacturer exporters always use the
containers of the shipping company.
CONTAINER NUMBER
Every container of has a number written on it. This number helps all the parties to identify
the goods. It also helps the shipping company to transport the goods efficiently. The container
number is always written on all the documents.
SEALING OF CONTAINER
After stuffing of the container, every container always sealed by three types of seals
1. Excise seal
2. Custom seal
3. Shipper`s seal
STUFFING
The process of transferring the goods from the factory to the container is called stuffing. In
contrast, the process of transferring the goods from container to ship is called as loading.
Documents Obtained
These are the documents of Namdev Exports which they use for processing of their export
order. The company officials give us all these documents for successful completion of this
project.
