Some Important Notes and Reminders for this Year

Please complete the Emergency Care and Getting To Know You forms as soon as possible.
Check your childs red HERO HOMEWORK folder and Planner each night for important
notes and homework. Please go over the assignments with your child before signing the
Planner. Please review the Code of Conduct located in the front of the planner.
After units of study, you will see your childs Green Graded Folder come home.
It is very important to go through the graded papers with your child. Help them to
make corrections and review the important concepts. Please sign and return
folder to school.
Allendale Elementary and the state of Michigan have been stressing the importance of
healthy snacks with children. If your child chooses to bring a snack from home,
please make sure they are not bringing in sweets or chips. Please see the attached
snack list in the folder. We will let you know if there are any food allergies in our
class.

Once again, it is important to already have addition and subtraction facts up to 18

mastered for 3rd grade. They are the foundation that we begin to build higher math
concepts on. Please make it a priority to master them this quarter!
Birthday treats are allowedplease just let us know when you are sending
something in. We usually have 30 students in our class.
Anytime money is sent in, please make sure its in an envelope with your childs
name to avoid any lost items. If youre writing a check for any book orders,
remember to write it out to the book company.
Throughout the year, we will have a Superhero Student of the Week. When your
child is the superhero, you will receive a special note all about it.

As an incentive for good classroom behavior and teamwork we follow the schoolwide PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) program. Ask your child
how they did each day!!
