Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a student who will be entering his third year of undergraduate study this autumn. I
am enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program offered at UBC Okanagan with a major
in Biochemistry. Because my major focuses heavily on laboratory based learning, I have
experience working in a laboratory setting and I am familiar with a variety of analytical
instruments, procedures and techniques. My career goal is to work in the field of
analytical chemistry with a focus on biochemistry in order to investigate the interactions
of foreign compounds and living organisms which occur in the environment. Although I
do not have any previous experience working in a water treatment facility, I am very
interested in this opportunity. This internship will show me how real-life environmental
analysis takes places and the steps undertaken in order to minimize the impact which
modern human society places on the environment. My resume is included within this
