Each student is expected to prepare a personal project that you
will be required to complete and share while in Ghana. You may
want to consider something you are already passionate about or
something that challenges new and unknown horizons. We have
included some examples from previous participants below to
help shape your vision. Please briefly outline 2 possible project
ideas and a small summary of each (essay form not needed).

Essay Prompt:
In your 3 paragraph essay, please respond to the following statement:
ITVghana strongly emphasizes cultural exchange and close interaction
with the community in Ghana and a greater global awareness in
general. Successful applicants should be prepared for extensive
academic work and an introduction into international development
focusing on key global issues and challenges. Thus, expectations are

high, as we are working in small teams to have this trip be a mutually

beneficial experience with the Ghanaian people.
Considering the above, please help us better understand why you
should be selected for this journey.
IMPORTANT: There are only 8 spots available (in addition to 2 trip leader) on the
2015 /2016 ITVghana cultural exchange to Ghana. The top candidates from this
written phase of the application process will have an additional oral interview
opportunity with ITV Board Members. Final trip participants will then be selected
based on the combined strength of your essay, teacher recommendation, resume
and oral interview conversation.
