5 THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY!!!
This project is due on 09/16/2015 and will be presented on 09/17/2015 count as ONE TEST GRADE.
If a student is absent on presentation day, they must be ready to take a test on the physical geography,
political geography, climate regions, human geography, population density and economic resources of
the United States. ALL RESEARCH WILL BE COMPLETED IN CLASS AND STUDENTS WILL BE
REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ALL RESEARCH THROUGH THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM.

Students may use any resource located in the DESTINY ONLINE LIBRARY which can be accessed
through the Jarrell ISD webpage. Since this project will be completed in class, all students will have
access to these resources. WIKI SITES MAY NOT BE USED!!!!

Background
The world consists of a variety of unique physical regions and landforms, including plains, mountains,
basins, and coastal areas. The geography of the world affects all that we do. The physical geography
around your home is important in your daily life. It influences the house you live in and the clothes you
wear. It affects the kids of transportation you use and even the food you eat.

Task
You are an environmental engineer. You have to create your own civilization and be able to explain
why you created that civilization using the 5 THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY! Remember, your civilization
must have a government, roads, transportation, how you will survive, a NAME, and include all other
aspects of a true civilization.

Audience
The audience is made up of people who want to relocate but dont know where to move.

Purpose
The purpose is to understand the 5 THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY!

Procedure
1. Research the 5 THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY. Make sure you understand how your civilization
will operate.
2. Conduct your research to define the terms given in class. Be sure to include why you did not
choose certain types of government, transportation, economy, etc.
3. Use your information to start creating your civilization.
4. Project must be a in WRITTEN FORMAT WITH PICTURES!!
5. Each group member MUST SPEAK DURING THE PRESENTATION!
