Party consists of

>Elf Druid, that is normally a chill guy but when the fighting starts he's basic
ally a berserker
>Kobold ranger NPC, a coward
>Dwarf Paladin of Bahamut, typical LG pally.
>Human Bard, typical LG noblebright hero (NPC)
>Tiefling Fighter, an ex-pirate who is the bard's bodyguard
>Human Rogue, typical rogue things + is in a ninja order or whatever
>Gnomish Wizard, cute magic girl
>Dragonborn Monk, an enormous mary-sue whose player is going to another country
so we're NPCing the character until he "accidentally dies".
>Party gets hired to rescue a noble out of some rival desert kingdom's dungeons.
>Party gets to the capital city, infiltrates the palace's prison as captives, pi
ck up the guy and exfiltrate via wish-granting cube(killing 28 guards on the way
out like the murderhobos they are)
>Travel out of the city, get to a forest
>See a guy in black plate with glowing red trim armour riding a horse, followed
by 20 men-at-arms.
>Party's Fighter notices about 10 more crossbowmen in the bushes.
>The black knight orders them to surrender their weapons and approach, and that
they are now under the custody of the Mother of Dragons (basically a cult of Tia
mat that they've faced before)
>the party's Druid literally says "I have plus nine in persuasion, let me speak
to him"
>Tries to convince him that they're just a bunch of friends on a road trip
>Fails [spoiler]because the guy they had to pick up is secretly a member of the
cult - and their employer is too[/spoiler].
>Black knight orders soldiers to restrain them
>Druid resists
>"Everyone that doesn't surrender, roll initiative"
>Black knight rolls a nat 20, he goes first.
>On his first turn deals 97 damage to the druid who is in front of him, reduces
him to 0hp instantly (he has like 63 max hp)
>He should be unconscious
>Druid declares his character dead and ragequits (literally walks out of my hous
e)
>Everyone else surrenders
