Greetings Firoozeh Dumas,

My name is Jorge Padilla and I wanted to discuss your piece The F Word. I
just felt like asking you some questions and sharing my thoughts about a
couple of things that caught my attention when reading it. Right off the bat, I
wanted to tell you that I personally, can relate to your situation in The F
Word. The theme of the literary piece was highly relatable due to the fact
that my name is Jorge, and growing up, people had a hard time pronouncing
my name. So I just prefer people call me George which is the American
translation of my real name even though thats not how its actually
pronounced. However, going back to your narration, I was wondering, did
you ever debate legally changing your name, or is that why you created your
fake name, Julie? Since I recall you bringing up not wanting a long term affect
change because you wouldve had to deal with the long term consequences
of doing that. Another subject Id love to bring up is your vivid use of imagery
to describe exotic names and compare them with spices. I also noticed how

you restrained yourself to using foreign spices rather than using the
Caucasian genre of spices.
Well thats basically all I really felt like asking you and I hope you find the
time to reply to me when you can.

Sincerely,

Jorge Padilla
