FLOATING FLOOR LOAD CALCULATION (CHILLERS AREA)

1. The distribution of the isolators under the plywood formwork shall be:
(610 x 610) mm at the typical zone.
The choice of isolators is the CDM-17 having the dimensions of (50 x 50x h = 50) mm

for the slab of 120mm, the dead load shall be:

a. Weight of the concrete: 2500 x 0.12 =

b. Weight of the plywood panel: 750 x 0.018 =
Total dead load =

300.00 Kg/m
13.50 Kg/m
313.50 Kg/m

The weight / isolator of (50 x 50) mm is,

313.50 x (0.61x 0.61) = 116.7 Kg / isolator

the load is: = 116.7x10 / (50x50) 0.47 MPa < 1 MPa (OK) (see CDM-17050 data sheet)

2. Under the chiller, it shall be taken by extra isolators

We have selected CDM-17 isolators having the section of (50 x 50) mm,
Loaded < 1MPa (200 Kg/isolator).
Each chiller weight: 10880 Kg
Each concrete up stand weight: 2500 x 12.3 x 0.3 x 0.55 = 5074 Kg
Therefore the total weight is: 10880 + (2 x 5074) = 21028Kg
Number of extra isolators = 21028/200 = 106 isolators.
Number of extra isolators under each Up-stand= 53 isolators.
3. The choice of the isolator CDM-17050 is due to the important occasional load that it can support
during the Chillers maneuver and movement during the installation and maintenance operation (see
occasional load in the technical data sheet in attachment). The occasional load is 8 MPa which
represents a load of 2000 Kg/isolator and 5375 Kg/m
4. Under the pipe support and based on the Mechanical Drawing, the maximum Load per each support
point is the weight of: (2 x 300 pipe, L=4 m) Weight 408 Kg.
If we consider that each support point is supported by 6 isolators, the extra Load per CDM will be
68 Kg 0.27 MPa and the total Load per CDM (including the Floating Floor) = 0.47 +0.27= 0.74
MPa (<1 MPa) OK.
