This is your homework packet for the week of August 31st September 4th. The packet is due on Friday,
September 4th. First graders do not receive a grade for homework, but it is checked for completion and
accuracy.
Spelling Our spelling words for this week will have l-blends. We will have a test on Friday, September 4th. We are
continuing to work on conventional uses of capital and lowercase letters and correcting letter reversals.
Spelling Words clip, flip, slip, flag, black, plan, glad, class, flops, cliff, slim, flaps, be, come, good, pull, my, play,
said. Students will only be tested on fifteen of these words.
Suggestions for spelling practice:
Make flashcards to practice spelling words.
Spell each word aloud five times.
Rainbow Write (use different colored pens or markers) the words five times each.
Sky Write (pretend your finger is a pencil and spell in the air) the words five times each.
Write a sentence for each word.
Math Complete pages P13-P14 in your GoMath! practice book.
Reading Complete pages 21-22 in your Wonders practice book. Please complete any additional pages from unit 1,
week 3 if you need extra practice.
Reading Log - Please read with your child for at least 45 minutes each week. Please record the books that you
have read and return in your homework folder on Friday.
