Objective

Summary

My goal is to obtain a Biology teaching position in a Middle or High School on

Oahu. I want a career that consists of inspiring students to use their learning as
a powerful tool in achieving their goals and living a life they love, just as I have
been able to do for myself.
I am currently completing my Masters Degree program and Secondary
Science Licensure at Chaminade University. I am student teaching with Paula
Li at Farrington High School, and it is one of the greatest experiences of my life
so far. Before student teaching, I spent 5 years working for lululemon athletica,
a yoga and athletic clothing company. In those 5 years, I was fortunate enough
to work for a company that values development of its people and elevation of
its community, and just happens to use retail as its vehicle for doing so. I intend
to carry much of what I developed and learned at lululemon into my teaching
so I can get my students to elevate themselves, their peers, and their
community.

Responsibilities
I was on the opening team for our location (the first in Hawaii), and was
able to help develop a team that grew our store into both a company
stand-out and an influential presence in our island community
As a Key Leader (KL), I was responsible for developing my team
mates into stronger leaders and prepare them to advance in the
company
I goal-coached new and veteran staff, and helped them map out plans
to achieve their career, personal, and health goals

Responsibilities
The majority of my subbing assignments were at Mid Pacific Institute in
the Middle and High Schools
I covered a variety of classes, from art to science to English to P.E.,
and really enjoyed learning more about each subject as I taught each
day's lessons
I was requested by multiple teachers, and students told me that they
appreciated the help I gave them because most subs (according to the
students) "did not seem to care"
