2. The particlezu
When the particle zw (too) is placed directly before an adjective, it adds
emphasis to it. For example, a shop is not just full: it is too full.
Das ist (mir) za voll.
Der Rock ist (mir) zu klein.
3. Compound nouns
In German, nouns can often be joined together to form compounds: der
Herbst + die Farbe = die Herbstfarbe. Note: the compound adopts the
gender of the second noun, Sometimes a consonant is added (e.g. ans or an.
n) to ease pronunciation.
