Storm shelters are not adequate at all district schools,
especially at Marysville Elementary. Due to cutting back the
bond issue in 1987 after twice being defeated, only 1 in 3
people at MES can be protected in the current storm shelter.
The bond proposal ensures adequate shelter forall MES and
MHS/MUHS students and staff

The MHS biology classroom is the same today as it was in
1950, even though US Bureau of Labor reports that 17 of 25
of the fastest growing jobs are science or medical related.
MHS students cannot be adequately prepared for those
‘career fields in the current outdated facilities. The proposed
bond issue will create 6 new, fully equipped science labs and
classrooms on par with current educational standards

Moving the science classrooms to the location of the
existing MHS gymnasium will allow the art classrooms,
currently located outside of the MHS/MJHS facilities,
tocome under one roof. This brings the district one
step closer to housing all 7th-12th grade students in the
same building, eliminating additional security concerns
and problems with inclement weather. The agriculture
education classrooms would remain outside in Phase |
Replacing the current high school gymnasium with new
science facilities and other classtooms leaves a need for
additional gym space. The current high school gym poses
a number of safety hazards for student athletes, visiting
wee teams and
patrons alike.
