REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION


Rear Window Glass Regulator
Removal and Installation
1.

Fold down the rear seat backs.

Fold the loadspace trim panels up and remove


the luggage compartment lower screws and
loadspace trim panel.

Remove the spare tire jack and handle


assembly.

6.

If equipped, remove the sub-woofer assembly.

Remove the pin-type retainers from the luggage


compartment trim panel.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Remove the bolts.

Open the luggage compartment trim panel


access doors and remove the four pin-type
retainers and the luggage compartment trim
panel.

7.

Remove the carpet pin-type retainers and pull


the carpet back.

10. Position the rear window glass to the 3/4 down


position. For additional information, refer to
Rear Window Positioning in this section.

NOTE: The rear window glass water shield


uses a reusable butyl rubber adhesive. A new
water shield does not have to be installed unless
it is damaged or if the butyl rubber adhesive
does not adhere to a section of the sheet metal.
Remove the water shield from the rear window
glass motor.

11. Disconnect the rear window glass regulator


motor electrical connector.
12. Remove the rear window glass bolts.

Position the rear window glass regulator access


panel aside.

Remove the screws.

Remove the nut.

Position the rear window glass regulator


access panel aside.

13. Secure the rear window glass in the full closed


position.

14. Remove the upper rear window glass regulator
bolts.

16. Remove the rear window glass regulator


assembly.

15. Loosen the right and lower rear window glass


regulator drum housing bolts, and remove the
left rear window glass regulator drum housing
bolt.

Position the slider to the midway point.

17. If necessary, transfer the rear window glass


motor.
18. NOTE: The rear window glass motor must be
initialized after a repair has been carried out.
For additional information, refer to Rear
Window Motor Initialization in this section.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
