Adjectives.
Anadjectiveisawordorsetofwordsthatmodifies(i.e.,describes)a
nounorpronoun.Adjectivesmaycomebeforethewordtheymodify.
Examples:
That is a cute puppy.
She likes a high school senior.
Adjectivesmayalsofollowthewordtheymodify:
Examples:
That puppy looks cute.
The technology is state-of-the-art.

Adverbs.
Anadverbisawordorsetofwordsthatmodifiesverbs,adjectives,
orotheradverbs.
Examples:
He speaks slowly(modifiestheverbspeaks)
He is especially clever(modifiestheadjectiveclever)
He speaks all too slowly(modifiestheadverbslowly)
Anadverbanswershow,when,where,ortowhatextenthowoften
orhowmuch(e.g.,daily, completely).
Examples:
