Planet Presentation Project

Objective: Students will work in collaborative groups to research an

assigned planet in the solar system. Students will work collaboratively in
groups to create a Google Slides presentation that displays the
characteristics of their planet and teaches their classmates about their
planet. Students will individually summarize the characteristics of their
planet in a one-paragraph summary. Students will individually write a
quiz question about their planet, which will be compiled into a test that all
students will take.
Directions:
1. Meet with your group and decide how you will research your
planet. How will you get the information you need? How will you
keep track of your notes?
2. Research your planet - you need to be ready to meet with your
group by Friday, Sept. 18.
3. Meet with your group and discuss your research. What did
you find? Did you find the same information? Did anybody find
anything different? What is the most important information?
4. Come up with a plan for your Google Slides presentation.
Outline your presentation on the paper Ms. A gives you. Your group
needs to show Ms. A your plan before you can start. In your
presentation, you MUST have: a title slide, at least five (5!) slides
about your planet (you decide what is WORTH presenting), and one
conclusion slide. You also need at least six (6) pictures in your
presentation.
5. Work with your group to create your presentation. Everybody
in your group needs to make at least ONE slide on their own (you
can help them but they need to do the work).
6. Write a one-paragraph summary about your planet. Include
only the most important main ideas and details. Your summary
must be typed: double-spaced, 12 pt. font, Times New Roman or
Arial, one inch margins. Turn it in to Ms. Ahern.

7. Write a quiz question about your planet. It can be multiple

choice, fill in the blank, or short answer. Make it a little challenging!
Give your question (and the answer to your question!) to Ms. A.
8. Present with your group!
