Industry Institute Partnership Cell, Director of Research and Consultancy, BESUS

The thrust of the event was to invite proposals from the corporate sector for point

An Eminent retired Scientist from the DIT the Department of Information Technology has been
mentoring the Research Activities in the Electrical Engineering Department. Fiver students of EE
Dept. underwent practical training at Calcutta Metro Railways on various operations and
maintenance topics. Three students of EE Dept. underwent practical training in the automation
group of Bhaba Atomic Research Center, Mumbai.

Recent activities to be taken

Regarding permeation of technology to where there is a dearth of technical expertise. Talks are on with the MSME
FOUNDRY CLUSTER at of Howrah to Institute a SINGLE WINDOW PROCESS for Technology Solutions to
enhance the process the product quality from the Foundry Units.
Units A workshop is ready to be held where the various
foundry owners and the technology provider as the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, BESU,
Shibpur will be present.

1.

Proper utilization of slag of the foundry based cupola towards making of pavement blocks or any other commercial
uses.

2.

Proper and sustainable design for Air Pollution Control Device to minimize & maintaining of emission level as per
the norms of WBPCB.

3.

Availability of Technical Consultants for feasibility check & post runs of cupola furnace for energy efficiency.

4.

Any other area of Collaboration for developmental cause of Howrah Foundry Cluster along with Howrah Chamber
of Commerce.
