flora. The patient generally seek for self-treatment by buys anti-dandruff shampoo is made from
synthetic base but could give bad effect for scalp health such as hair loss, breakage and faint.
The purpose of this study was to assess the comparison (RASIO) Minimal Inhibitory Concentration
(MIC) for combination of lengkuas (Alpinia galanga L.) juice and merang (Oryza sativa) ash
immertion with ketoconazole and griseofulvin in vitro on Pityrosporum ovale colony.
Method: The study is in vitro experiment laboratory by using sample P. Ovale fungi culture on
Saboraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) medium. Antifungal test using disk-diffusion agar-based with nine
concentration dose of combination of lengkuas juice and merang ash immertion 25%, 50%, 100% and
40 ug/ml ketoconazole and 40 ug/ml griseofulvin. Data was analyzed by one way ANOVA test.
Result: Result of this study showed combination of lengkuas juice and merang ash immertion at
concentration L3M1, L3M2, dan L3M3 can strongly inhibit the growth of P. Ovale (> 20 mm) (p
0,000).
Conculsion: The combination of lengkuas juice and merang ash immertion at concentration L2M1,
L3M1, L3M2, dan L3M3 was comparable with ketoconazole 40 ug/ml and griseofulvin 40 ug/ml and
significantly than control group
