Autumn Leaves Progression

The following chord progression and scale choice lists should be tried over
the verse of the jazz standard Autumn Leaves. (First three counts are pick
up notes, anacrusis)

There are more scale choices available for each chord, and if we were to
consider all of the chordal substitutions available to us for each of the
original chords in the progression and then list the substitute chords scale
choices, the list would be endless. We will slowly over the coming months
try to identify and list as many of them as we can find.
All scale choices listed in this article have been demonstrated in earlier
articles available on our site. I hope to be able to supply audio downloads
and CD versions of all our tutorials to allow you to hear the way scales,
arpeggios, and chords can sound when blended together properly. Anyone
