Judging Criteria 2015

There are 5 components of the judging criteria: originality, budget, effectiveness, reach, and cohesiveness.
20 points are allocated to each component to form an overall score of 100. This score is dependent on how
well the team addresses each of the judging criteria based on the following scale:
1-4
Very poor

5-8
Poor

9-12
Satisfactory

13-16
Very good

17-20
Excellent

1. Originality
Teams are judged based on:

The level of innovation and creativity of their recommendation(s)


The extent to which the approach is inventive and unique
The individualism of the concept and how well it is expressed

How efficiently the $10,000 budget (exclusive of labour and utility costs) is utilised
The practical nature of the budgets implementation (i.e. how realistic and achievable the allocated
budget is)

3. Effectiveness
Teams are judged according to how convincingly their campaign and ideas have been presented:

Excellent reasoning, with evidence and research to back up the campaign idea
Campaigns desired results are clearly stated and well-thought-out
Campaigns risks (e.g.: possible hindrances to implementation) and mitigation strategies have been
evaluated
Campaign is well-planned with a short- and long-term timeline, while considering long-term
sustainability
