Fresh Fruits and Vegetables


- May be whole, cut, bagged or packaged
- Organic is allowed
- White potatoes are also allowed

Tortillas (These brands and types ONLY)

- *Don Marcos, White Corn (18 count)


- *La Burrita, Corn (12 count)

*1 tortilla = 1 carb

- *Don Pancho, White Corn (18 count)


- *Hacienda, Whole Wheat Flour (12 count)

**2 tortillas = 1 carb

- *La Burrita, Corn (12 count)


- *Meijer, Soft Taco White Corn (18 count)
- *Mission, Whole Wheat (10 count)
- **Mission, Yellow Corn Extra Thin (24 count)

Brown Rice (Any Brand)


- Plain, dry without added herbs s or seasonings

1/3 cup of rice = 1 carb

- Regular, instant and boil-in-bag type

Breads (please refer to approved brand list)


- Choose Whole Wheat bread without fruits
- 1 slice = 11-20 gm carbs (1 carb)

Hot/Cold Cereals
- Instant Oatmeal (unflavored)
- Cream of Wheat, whole Grain, Original Flavor
- Melt-O-Meal, Moms Best Naturals Quick Oats/Old Fashioned Oats
- Kroger, Old Fashioned Oats
- General Mills, Chex Oatmeal *Gluten Free
- Cheerios (plain)
- Special K original

Cold Cereal:
1 cup cereal + 8 oz milk =
2 carbs
Hot Cereal:
1/2 cup cooked or 1 packet = 1 carb

Milk
- Skim, 1/2%, 1%
- Reduced fat milk contains the same amount of calcium and vitamin D compared to whole milk!
- 8 oz milk = 1 carb

Soy Milk
- Please refer WIC approved brand list
- 12 oz = 1 carb

Peanut Butter (Store brand ONLY)


- 16-18 oz jar, plain creamy/chunky peanut butter (not with jelly, honey, marshmallows and other flavorings)

Cheese (16 oz only)


- Cheddar, Colby, Mozzarella, Colby Jack, Monterey Jack, Muenster, Swiss are allowed
- American and string without individual wrapping are also allowed
- No sliced or shredded allowed

Eggs (1 dozen)
- Grade A or AA
- Medium or Large (No extra large or jumbo)

Cheese, Eggs, and Peanut


Butter are good source of

snacks!

Not Recommended:

Fruits juice is included in the WIC benefit, however, we do not recommend you to consume fruits juice while you
have Gestational Diabetes
