I am a tutor for a seventh grade student whom I help with any subject that he is struggling with, including
additional material beyond his own curriculum.
Assistant Tennis Coach

Once a week, I assist a local tennis instructor by coaching some of his younger students by communicating
effectively to help them improve while keeping them motivated and focused.
Swimming Instructor

August 2009-May 2010

I volunteered as a swim instructor at a local YMCA swimming center, where I taught kids from ages 2 to 16
how to swim. The students were taught individually as well as in groups of up to 8.

Skills
-I am able to communicate effectively, making sure that I am concise and specific.
-I know how to work patiently and successfully with youth because of my prior work experiences that have
required me to teach new skills to the youth in our surrounding communities.
-I am very disciplined and resilient to stress as I have been able to complete 23 units at the end of my first fall
semester in community college while tutoring, coaching tennis, and competing on a traveling dance team.
-Being on a competitive dance team has made me very detail oriented because our team of 30 must perform in
unison and with precision. We spend up to 14 tedious hours a week in training to accomplish this.
