Gymnastics Effectiveness Against Elderly Sleep Quality In Nanggalo's Public Health
Center area 2015
ABSTRACT

Sleep quality is determined by how a person preparing sleep patterns at night as the
depth of sleep, and ease of falling asleep without medical assistance. The process
of degeneration in the elderly causes the effective sleep time on the wane, so do not
achieve adequate sleep quality and will give rise to various kinds of sleep
complaints. Gymnastics elderly shown to improve sleep quality in the elderly. This
study aims to determine the effectiveness of gymnastics elderly on sleep quality
elderly in Nanggalos Public Health Center area 2015. This research is a quasiexperimental approach to one group pretest-posttest control group design.. A tool for the
quality of sleep that is used is the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).The sampling
technique was used purposive sampling with the number of respondents 12
people. Respondents were given gymnastics elderly for 20 minutes 2 times in 1
week.Analysis of the data in this study using a statistical test Paired t-test. P value =
0.000 (p <), showed that elderly exercise can improve sleep quality scores in the
elderly. Expected for a nurse to further increase the use of gymnastic elderly as an
effort to overcome the problem of loss of quality sleep.
