Postulates
1. A straight line may be drawn from
any one point to any other point.
2. A terminated line can be produced
indefinitely.
3. A circle can be drawn with any
centre and any radius.

Postulates
4. All right angles are equal to one another.
5. If a straight line falling on two straight
lines makes the interior angles on the
same side of it taken together less than
two right angles, then the two straight
lines, if produced indefinitely, meet on
that side on which the sum of angles is
less than two right angles.

Axioms
1. Things which are equal to the same
thing are equal to one another.
2. If equals are added to equals, the
wholes are equal.
3. If equals are subtracted from
equals, the remainders are equal.

Axioms
4. Things which coincide with one
another are equal to one another.
5. The whole is greater than the part.
6. Things which are double of the same
things are equal to one another.
7. Things which are halves of the same
things are equal to one another.

Some Definitions
1. Point : A small dot made by a
sharp pencil on a sheet of paper
gives an idea about a point. A
point has no dimension. It has
only a position.
2. Line : It should be a straight line
and extended indefinitely to both
the directions.

Some Definitions
3. Plane : Surface of a smooth
wall, surface of a sheet of paper
are called plane. Surface is that
which has length and breadth
only.
4. Ray : A part of the line L which
has only one end A and containsA
the point B, then AB is a ray.

Some Definitions
5. Angle: When two lines
diverge from a common
point, an angle is formed.
6. Circle : It is a set of all those
points in a plane whose
distance from a fixed point
remains constant. The fixed
point is called the centre of
the circle.

Some Definitions
7. Line segment : A line
segment is a part of line
when two distinct points, let
A and B on a line are given.
Then the part of this line with
end points A and B is called a
line segment.
8. Radius : The distance from
the center to a point on the
circle is called the radius of
the circle.

Some Definitions
9. Square : A quadrilateral in
which all the four angles are
right angles and all the four
sides are equal.
