The sorority began with five, strong women: Mary Caffrey, Elizabeth Gorham Hoag, Ida Fuller, Frances Mann and Louise Helen Coburn. The organization supports five core philanthropies: Sigma Kappa Foundation, Inherit the Earth, Gerontology, Maine Sea Coat Mission, and Walk to End Alzheimers.
Meet Your New Sister
Kate White decided to save the best for last when she pledged Sigma Kappa her senior year. Her journey as a sister is only beginning, and she has deeply grown to love the sisterhood. I have made lifelong friends, and I have seen personal growth in myself I could have never imagined without joining. I have become more confident and this has even led to an improvement in my classes. I wish I had joined earlier. Kate White
In the spring of 2015 she will graduate with a B.A.
in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and Advertising. She plans to pursue a career in advertising in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Additionally, she wants to become an advisor to a local Sigma Kappa chapter. 2
