    Dear Encore Parents,
    You talked and we listened! You told us that you dont want to:
    bake cupcakes to raise money,
    solicit friends, family and co-workers to buy magazines, or
    walk, swim or run in any activity that has the word thon in it.
    Considering your wishes, we are having an Invest in Your Child Campaign for our Encore
    Program. We are hoping each family can contribute $50 dollars for instructional purposes. If
    each family commits to a $50 donation, we will raise more money than our fundraisers last
    year! MNPS is requiring a new donation form this year (attached). In order for all Encore
    teachers to receive the required supplies for each of our instructional units, I am asking that
    you donate your full $50 to general donation. Your form should look like this:

    You are welcome to increase your donation to contribute to a specific school or donate to

    A review of the federal education budget in 2007 revealed that for every $100 allocated, only
    $0.03 is spent on gifted children. Gifted and talented programs like Encore cannot thrive on
    such limited funds. I am asking for your help. Make your $50 donation today! Just fill out the
    attached donation form and send your check (made payable to Robertson Academy) in to
    your childs teacher. If you are unable to make the full donation amount, feel free to donate
    whatever you can. Thanks in advance for supporting Encore!
