Answer: Asconoid sponges have the simplest organization and simplest canal system. They are small
and tube shaped. Water enters through microscopic dermal pores (ostia) into a large cavity called a
spongocoel, which is lined with choanocytes. Choanocyte flagella pull water through the pores and
expel it through a single large osculum. Answer is d.
