Commonly feature chopped up, time
shifted or pitched vocal sound
Largely mixed with other music styles

Garage music

Centred

on electric guitar as part of group


with bass guitar and drums
Usually a 4/4 time signature
Lyrics often stress romantic love
Can often include political related lyrics
Places lots of emphasis on musicianship,
live performance and authenticity

Rock music

Generally

dance based
Used repetitive 4/4 bears
Rhythm mainly provided by drum
machines
Maintained a kick drum beat
Fused with several other genres such as
euro house, tech house, electro house and
jump house

House music

Derives

from the rock n roll genre


Borrows elements from other
styles including: urban, dance,
Latin and country
Pure Pop- More aggressive
Pure Pop uses electric guitar, drum
and bass

Pop Music

Use

a thick massive sound


Uses highly amplified distortion,
guitar solos, emphiric beats and
loudness
Lyrics and styles often linked
with masculinity, aggression and
strong masculine pride
Heavy Metal Music
