Arlington County Unanimously

Adopts Affordable Housing


Master Plan
On Saturday, September 19th, the Arlington County Board voted
5-0 to adopt the Affordable Housing Master Plan and accept the
Implementation Framework. The Plan aims to double the supply
of affordable housing in the County to address the needs of
current and future low income households.

"We commend the County Board's vision in addressing the dire
need for affordable housing," said APAH President/CEO Nina
Janopaul. "APAH is committed to support Arlington in increasing
the amount of affordable housing from 9% of the housing stock
today to 17.7% by 2040. APAH applauds the County Board for its
leadership and the County staff for their dedication for
addressing community concerns in this robust plan."

Adoption of the Plan follows a 3+ year process led by Arlington


County staff, an 18-member working group and an extensive
