Studio Policies:
Practicing:
Every student is expected to practice regularly. It is better to practice
each day rather than once or twice a week for a long time. This develops
good habits and a routine, and will develop skills immensely. Practicing habits
are evident through each lesson. Teaching helps, but only becomes effective
through individual practice! My recommendations are as follows:
Ages 4-7: 15 minutes/day
Ages 8-10: 30 minutes/day
11 and up: 60 minutes/day
Everyone is different, so this guideline may be slightly modified. Perhaps a
child will need to increase to 45 minutes/day before going to 60, for example.
If this model seems unreasonable, perhaps a practicing schedule would help.
Consider practicing every day before school, right after school, or right after
dinner, to set a consistent routine. If one session seems too much, split it in
half and practice once in the morning and once in the evening. Be creative! If
there is any trouble, please speak with me.
Performances:
Performing is essential to the growth and development of a person. It
increases concentration skills, goal-setting skills, motivation, presentational
and communication skills, and improves self-esteem. I encourage students

to start performing by playing for their imaginary friend, a stuffed animal,

then move up to playing for a family member, neighbor, friends, and then
groups of friends. Pretty soon its just like a recital setting! There will be a
studio recital each year as space becomes available.
Billing:
Payments are due in full by the first lesson of each month. I accept
cash, checks, or PayPal. Please make checks payable to Pam Crawford.
Make-up Lessons:
The amount due will be the same each month, even though some months
have five weeks instead of four. If the month has a fifth week, the fifth lesson
can be a make-up lesson for a previously missed lesson, or it can be a
credited lesson for a lesson that will be missed in the future.
There will be absolutely no refunds if a student misses a lesson, regardless of
the situation. I will do my best to accommodate requests to reschedule, but I
cannot guarantee a rescheduling.

Fees for the Spring Semester:

$100/ month for 20-minute weekly lessons (Young beginners)
$140/ month for 30-minute weekly lessons (Elementary beginners)
$180/ month for 60-minute weekly lessons (Intermediate to advanced
students)

Music books will be agreed to either be bought by the student or the

teacher. If bought by the teacher, the cost of the music will be added to
the lesson fees. Exact prices will apply with receipts. I can buy the books
and bill you to save you the trouble. I also qualify for music teacher
discounts you may not
All fees paid are non-refundable.
A $10 late fee per week will be applied to any late payments.
I reserve the right to discontinue lessons at my own discretion. If I decide
to discontinue lessons, a refund will be applied for any lessons pre-paid,
but not completed for the month.
You reserve the right to discontinue lessons at your own discretion. If at
least two weeks notice is given, any pre-paid lessons not completed will
be refunded. If less than 2 weeks notice, or no notice is given, no refund
will be applied.
The studio policy and fees are subject to change. Rates are subject to
increase reasonably each year.

I have read and will comply with the above studio policies.
