Teaching Philosophy
I believe that
Each student needs to be properly challenged in the classroom.
Each student may have strengths and weaknesses in a multitude of subjects, but as a teacher it is
my job to provide an adequate challenge to each student so that they can think critically and
grow as a student. By pre-assessing students I can find where work needs to be done and where
and extra challenge is appropriate. This teaches the students to access resources, work in groups,
and gain confidence in their abilities.
Students should be exceptionally computer and technology literate.
Each day newer and more complicated technology hits the scene. To properly prepare the
students for this challenge provided by the world I attempt to implement technology in every
lesson where appropriate. Knowing how to properly research a topic and then put down their
thoughts in an attractive yet professional manner is of the utmost importance to me as a teacher.
Each student learns in a specific way.
As a teacher it will be my job to provide each lesson in a multitude of ways so that the students
can receive the information in a way that works for them. Recorded lectures (for online classes)
paired with a power point hits auditory and visual learners. Providing materials that incorperate
guided practice will allow the other students to properly extract the information they need from

the lesson. I also always keep hours where I can help students that need a little extra help one on
one.
Having a professional and comfortable discourse makes learning easier.
By having an email and a question box I can provide multiple ways for students to ask for extra
help. I also can email individual feedback on assignments to each student and open a discourse
with them if they have questions about something. I dont want students to feel intimidated by
their work and know that I am available to help if they need it.
