    Miss Albright's Class News: September 25, 2015

    On September 30th, Miss Albright's first grade class will take a walking field trip to the Auburn Public Library and students should wear their Dean Road t-shirts. The next PTO meeting will be on October 5th where first grade students will perform. Other upcoming events include a restaurant night at McAllister's on October 6th, the DRES Rocket Run on October 9th, parent conferences on October 15th, fall break on October 15th-16th, and picture retakes on October 20th. In class, students will be learning about characters, setting, events in reading, commas in sentences in grammar, addition with sums to 20 in math, and fall in science.

    Miss Albrights Class News

    September 25, 2015


    Announcements:
    On September 30th first grade
    students will take a walking
    field trip to the Auburn
    Public Library. Please send
    your child to school in his or
    her Dean Road t-shirt.
    Our next PTO meeting is
    Monday, October 5th at 6:00
    PM. First grade students will
    perform.
    DRES restaurant night at
    McAllisters is Tuesday,
    October 6th.
    The DRES Rocket Run will be
    on Friday, October 9th. More
    information will be coming
    home soon.
    Parent conference day is
    Thursday, October 15th.
    Fall break is October 15th -16th.
    There is no school for
    students on these days.
    Picture retakes will be on
    Tuesday, October 20th.

    A Peek at Our Week


    Reading/Language Arts: This week we will be
    on unit 2, week 1 in our Wonders reading series.
    Our phonics skill for this week is short e. We
    are also learning about characters, setting, and
    events. In grammar we are focusing on using
    commas correctly in sentences.
    Math: We are beginning addition with sums to
    20. We are learning different strategies to solve
    these addition problems.
    Science: This week we are learning about fall.
    We will discuss fall weather, holidays, and
    other special events.
