Market stays flat on thin trades

The short trading week at the Colombo bourse continued on last weeks
subdued activity levels. The benchmark ASPI however gained 2.93 points Global Market Indices
WoW to close at 7,110.80 points, despite slipping into negative grounds

Poultry sector counters gain ground
Interest was evident on poultry sector counters in the likes of BFL, TAFL
and GRAN. The stocks reached 52 week high prices during the week
amidst a strong demand from both institutional and retail investors. BFL
gained LKR 10.40 WoW to close at LKR 200.00 while TAFL and GRAN
edged up LKR 3.20 WoW and LKR 2.20 WoW to close at LKR 139.10 and
LKR 90.30 respectively.

Renewed interest on JKH

Investors continued to rally around bigwig JKH with 2.6mn shares trading
CSE Market Statistics
hands during the week. The renewed investor sentiment was further
strengthened by an announcement on Cinnamon life project which was
released during the latter part of the week. The stock gained LKR 2.20

The market recorded a turnover of LKR 3.34bn averaging a daily turnover Foreign Purchases LKR
of LKR 835mn on a shorter trading week of four trading days. Several ne- Foreign Sales LKR
gotiated deals took place during the week totaling LKR 2bn and contributing ~ 62% to total turnover. A cumulative 120mn shares changed hands Net In/Outflow LKR
while retail activity was relatively low during the week. Foreign investors
were on the buying side recording a net foreign inflow of LKR 499mn.
