Jeannie L. Tatro, HR Recruitment Coordinator
Wilson & Company
4900 Lang Ave. NE
Albuquerque, NM 87109
Dear Ms. Tatro,
I would like to apply for an internship position with your company. I met with
some of your representatives at my schools career fair and after researching
more about it, the company seems like something I would want to be apart of. I
am still going through my collegiate career and figured that this would be the
perfect opportunity to mold a young mind like myself into something great for
your company.
I am currently a sophomore at the University of New Mexico. I am studying Civil
Engineering with a concentration in Environmental. I have taken some classes
through the department that may help out with my credentials that include
AutoCAD, Surveying and Geomatics, and several math courses, among many
others. Within these courses I have received real world experience that I am
more than comfortable transferring to a career/internship that may help me
become more familiar with the processes of both.
I participate in as many clubs as possible on campus. This way I can make
connections along the way that might help me out in the future with potential
career opportunities. Recently this year I was elected to be the secretary of the
Associated General Contractors student chapter. This position has taught me to
be able to handle stressful positions with a smile on. You have to learn to be
very flexible and help students out whenever possible because they see you as
a leader. Along with this club we are planning to attend the Associated General
Contractors competition in Reno, Nevada, where I plan to participate on a
competing team and along the way become LEED certified. Along with this club
I also participate in the American Society of Civil Engineers, and Society of
Women Engineers student chapters. All three of these clubs give me the
opportunity to be among different groups of students who share common
interests as me and push me to be a better student.
When I am not in school or participating in extracurriculars, I am outside. I am
fascinated by the simplicity of the world we live in. I want to make the world a
better place no matter what that might be, from soil testing to building better
roadways. Thank you for this opportunity to let me apply for an internship for
your company, I look forward to hearing from you about this exciting

opportunity. I can be contacted through email if you have any more questions;

Sincerely,
Cassy Scarlott- McClintock
