Birth of a Nation
The shots in the Birth Of A Nation include, long shots,
extreme long shots, mid shots and close ups. Using a variety of
shots like the examples I just gave, expresses the actors
emotions to the audience. Such as the close up shows the
audience the full expression the actors have on their faces. A
story has been portrayed throughout the film from the use of
Griffiths camera techniques and choice of music. The music is
used to identify the baddie/ goodie, also the mood in the shot.
The camera techniques are used to pick out the actors
emotions with a close up. Long shots are used to set the scene
and show the environment.
Griffiths has moved story telling forward from the varied use
camera angles. The camera angles he used has inflicted how
we film today. Both of these shots show the same close up.
However there from completely different time eras.
