2. From the previous problem, Question 2.9, the height of each window is 1 m and the space
between windows is also 1 m. The tangerine was moving up with 12 m/s at the bottom of
window #3. (12 points)
a. Calculate the average velocity of the tangerine while it is passing each window.
b. Calculate time the tangerine takes to pass each window.
c. Calculate the change in the velocity during each passing.

4. A ball is dropped from rest from the top of a building of height h. At the same instant, a second ball is projected
vertically upward from ground level, such that it has zero speed when it reaches the top of the building. (10 points)
a. When do the two balls pass each other? Answer it in terms of h.
b. Which ball has greater speed when they are passing?
c. What is the height of the two balls when they are passing?
5. Chapter 3, Problem 16, page 57 in H&R,W (8 points)

6. Using two vectors, a and b from the previous problem, Problem 3.16, calculate followings in the unit vector
notation; (9 points)
a. 3a - 4b
b. 2ab
c. 3(a - 2b)(5a)
